Knusse koffiebar

Als je blij wordt van een boek, koffie en kaneelbroodjes met een ‘view’, dan is deze specialty koffiebar annex boekwinkel echt iets voor jou. Hier in het hart van het Akwartier, temidden van het drukke universiteitsleven, verkoopt boekhandel Riemer Engelstalige boeken en zorgt Koffiestation voor de perfecte kop koffie, thee of warme chocola. Voor erbij zjn er prachtige taartjes en zoet uit eigen bakkerij.

Binnen is het, zoals je mag verwachten van koffiehuis gevuld met boeken, warm en gezellig. In het interieur is bewust gekozen om met Groningse ontwerpers samen te werken. Zo is de eyecatcher plafondschildering van Jaime Jacob van Studio Knetterijs en zijn de lampjes – die ook te koop zijn – van Melle Koot.

Koffiestation Books & Coffee is de tweede samenwerking van de Groningse koffiebranders en boekhandelaren. Aan de Nieuwe Ebbingestraat 1 is er ook een gecombineerde (veel grotere) boekenwinkel met koffiebar. Hier bevindt zich in de kelder ook de bakkerij.

Coffee with a view

If a book, coffee and cinnamon rolls with a ‘view’ make you happy, then this specialty coffee bar and bookstore is definitely for you. Here in the heart of the Akwartier, amid the busy university life, the Riemer bookstore sells English-language books and Koffiestation provides the perfect cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. To go with it, there are beautiful cakes and sweets from their own bakery.

Inside it is, as you would expect from a coffee house filled with books, warm and cozy. A conscious decision was made to collaborate with Groningen designers in the interior. For example, the eye-catching ceiling painting is by Jaime Jacob from Studio Knetterijs and the lights – which are also for sale – are by Melle Koot.

Koffiestation Books & Coffee is the second collaboration between Groningen coffee roasters and booksellers. At Nieuwe Ebbingestraat 1 there is also a combined (much larger) bookstore with coffee bar. The bakery is also located here in the basement.
